Web application
No off-the-shelf software does exactly what you do
The tool that doesn’t exist on the market because it is only useful to you.
So you make do: a shared spreadsheet that three people edit at the same time, software you use only a tenth of but pay for in full, and everything else in the head of whoever has been there from the start.
It holds up while volumes are low. It breaks just as the business grows, in other words at the worst possible time.
You buy a finished application, at a firm price
You describe your need, I deliver the application that meets it: design, development, going live and migrating your data. The scope and the price are set from the start: if the work takes longer than planned, that is at my expense.
Today’s tools, artificial intelligence included, have sharply cut lead times: what used to take months is often delivered in a few weeks. A custom application is now within reach of organizations for whom it was out of the question until recently.
- No more re-entering data or shared spreadsheets: everyone works in the same place, on up-to-date data
- A written scope and a firm price, known before work starts
- Migration of your existing data, spreadsheets included
- Usable on phones and tablets, not just at the office
- The code and the data belong to you, and go with you if you change providers
- An application built to evolve: adding a feature doesn’t mean redoing everything
What I build most often
A few examples, to help you place your own need.
Business tools
Tracking cases, job sites or service calls: everything your spreadsheet handles badly.
Client portals
Your clients check their documents and the progress of their case without having to call you.
Dashboards
Your figures in one place, up to date, with no manual exports.
Catalogs and bookings
Availability, appointment booking, time slot management.
Bridges
Getting two programs that don’t talk to each other to communicate, without replacing either.
Taking over an application
Getting an aging application back in shape rather than rewriting everything.
How it works
1. You describe your need, and above all the way you work today
2. I propose a written scope, a timeline and a firm price
3. Development starts, and you regularly test a working version
4. Going live, data migration, and onboarding with you
Still have questions?
I answer all your questions.
-
How long does it take?
From a few weeks to a few months, depending on the scope. Artificial intelligence has genuinely shortened these timelines. What hasn’t changed is the time needed to properly understand your business, and that is what the success of the project depends on.
The timeline is on the quote: you know it before you commit.
-
What if I misjudged my needs?
It happens often, and it is planned for: you see a first version very early, precisely so you can adjust course while it is still cheap to do so.
If you ask for an addition that clearly falls outside the agreed scope, I price it separately, and you decide whether it is worth it. Nothing is billed without your approval.
-
Who owns the application and the data?
To you, both of them. The code is handed over to you, the data can be exported in a standard format, and nothing is designed to lock you in.
It is a question to ask any provider before signing.
-
Who looks after it once the application is delivered?
I can, if you wish: hosting, security updates and new features are then covered by a separate contract.
Otherwise, your team or another provider can take over: the application is documented for that. You never depend on the one person who wrote it.
