Custom development
Your project is moving more slowly than planned
An autonomous team member from the very first week, who starts by understanding your problem.
The need is clear and the team knows what to do, but you are short of hands, or of a specific skill nobody has in-house. Hiring takes three months, and the project is expected now.
The reflex is then to look for “a PHP developer”. Yet what costs money is rarely writing the code: it is heading in the wrong direction and only noticing three weeks later.
You rent development time, and you are the one in charge
I join your project, with your tools and at your pace. You set the priorities, and I stay as long as you need: a few weeks, or several months.
In practice, I dive into what already exists, I ask the questions nobody has asked yet, and I deliver finished code, ready to pass your code review.
- Autonomous from the first week: I read the existing code before proposing anything
- Taking over existing projects, even undocumented ones
- Code tested and documented as I go
- A short weekly check-in: what is progressing, what is blocked, what has changed
- Remote, with on-site visits when the project calls for it
Time and materials rate
From €400 / day
Billed for the time spent. For a fixed-price project, with a defined scope and a firm price, I will send you a quote.
Discuss your projectThe technologies I use every day
On a project that uses them, I am effective from the very first days.
PHP 8 and Symfony
Business applications, APIs, version upgrades, taking over legacy projects.
Vue.js
Reactive interfaces, dashboards, integration into an existing application.
PostgreSQL and MySQL
Data modeling, migrations, speeding up slow queries.
APIs and integrations
REST, webhooks, connecting to external services while respecting their limits.
Docker and deployment
Containerization, reproducible environments, continuous deployment.
Python
Data processing, maintenance scripts, integrating AI models.
How it works
1. You present the need and the context to me in a video call
2. Together we set the scope, the duration and the pace of my work
3. I start on your repository, with your tools and your conventions
4. A check-in every week, and a review at each key milestone
Still have questions?
I answer all your questions.
-
Is there a minimum duration?
There is no set duration, but below a few days the benefit is limited: it always takes a little time to understand your code and your constraints, and that time is on me.
The most useful engagements last from a few weeks to a few months, full-time or part-time.
-
On-site or remote?
Remote by default: it is more flexible on hours, and you have no travel costs to pay.
I can come on-site when the project calls for it: kick-off, scoping workshop, taking over a complex existing system.
-
What if the need changes along the way?
That is the whole point of time and materials: you can redirect the work from one week to the next, without renegotiating a contract. The time you bought stays the same, and you decide how it is used.
If, on the other hand, the scope is fully defined and you prefer a firm price, a fixed-price project is the better fit, and I offer that too.
-
Who owns the code?
To you, entirely, as soon as it is written. It is stored in your repository, not mine: when the engagement ends, you do not depend on me.
